I think about some of the heels I used to wear in my 20’s–never again! If I’m wearing a high heel or a wedge it absolutely has to be comfy!
Let’s start with travel. When you’re hitting the road or walking through massive airports you really want to be comfy. I am impressed when I see travelers in sky high heels but for me, on a travel day, a high heel is not the way to go. I recently had a few trips to NYC and I wore a pair of Superstar Adidas–they are SO comfy! And you can really wear them with so many things.
And I love them with jeans! Dress em up or dress em down!
I recently made a huge rookie mistake. I was excited about a new pair of slip on bcbg sneakers. They were still very stiff so I don’t know why I decided to wear them while traveling. I had the worst blisters by the time I got to my first gate. Don’t wear any brand new shoe on a travel day! It’s a good idea to test the waters and wear them around you house to try and break them in a little.
The infamous red bottom soles! For years I’ve been admiring at a distance. I think I first saw Sandra Bullock wearing a nude Christian Louboutin heel on stage accepting an award. Her nude pump paired with a cute LBD made her legs look miles long! Here’s the deal if I’m going to splurge on a heel like this they are not going to be my “30 minute” shoes. I can honestly wear these for hours. They are tall but the platform helps. This is the Bianca heel. I tried on the So Kate –I wanted to throw them in front of a semi! The sales lady at the West Hollywood location said it’s their number one seller! Girls try them on saying, “Ohhhh these are so painful! I’ll take them!” I CAN’T!
This black pair is also comfy! I really can leap and walk in them for hours.
Now these are my luxe loves. But I still wear budget buys too. I have an $8 wedge that is just as comfy and a nude $40 heel from Dilliards that I wore out the spikes I loved em so much–I just don’t have the pics of em
What are your go to stylish, comfy shoes?
